The Animals go loud in support of St Kilda music history

‘Unplugged In St Kilda’ is a freshly launched 12-part podcast series covering the St Kilda music scene. We’ve been proud to contribute a range of items to this project that features leading music industry icons that lived and gigged in the area in the 70s, 80s and 90s. The series was launched with a fully booked out, one-off tribute to St Kilda music at The George Lane Bar, St Kilda. Guests were treated to stories from Painters & Dockers’ singer/songwriter Paulie Stewart and vocalist and bassist Fiona Lee Maynard. A highlight was the awe-inspiring and deeply moving live set by Matt ‘Doll’ Thomas of the Mavis’s. Tracks included a love story penned in Elwood (coming soon on E.P.) and his previous band’s classic hit ‘Cry’ (a Hottest 100 and ‘Secret Life Of Us’ soundtrack favourite). Matt’s version took on a sparkling new dimension being performed solo in such an intimate, quintessentially St Kilda setting.
