The accolades keep coming. Earlier this year, Brendan and Angus participated in the 2020 Graphis Design Awards with a visually stunning entry created at their previous agency, Blaze Advertising – and now they’ve clinched a Graphis Gold Award.
The Graphis Gold Award was won for the rebrand of Elliott Motorcycles, one of Australia’s most recent motorcycle brands. To see the work, and a full list of all involved, go here and click the ‘full credits’ button. It was a team effort in bringing this award-winner to life, with Brendan designing the master brand, Angus writing the brand line ‘Built Brave’, as well as developing ads and style guide with many more working on other assets. An important mention also goes to Elliott Motorcycles, Bondi Films and Adam Dostalek for allowing us to use their beautifully crafted images in the entry.
Elliott Motorcycles was built on the foundations of bravery, and started by master technician Elliot Andrews. Elliott is a regular at speed trials on the salt flats of Lake Gairdner in South Australia, where he pushes his bikes to the limit. The brand identity we devised needed to reflect his pioneering attitude, appearing both progressive and timeless.
The resulting design solution created by Brendan was crafted to resemble the signature of the founder Elliott Andrews himself. A recreated ‘signature of approval’ that could appear on everything that brand touched. The look was also structured to work neatly not only on apparel such as hats and shirts, but also on the Elliott motorcycle fuel tanks and forged metal parts.
To work on a campaign for any motorcycle brand is awesome, but to work for a national soft-tail Harley land speed record holder (Elliott Andrews) who runs his machine to extreme speeds with your design work down the side? For us that’s something else.
